Why Proseio exists
So Brazil has a way out: an open, Brazilian, independent messenger that works when people need it.
It does not need to win to be worth it
Proseio does not measure success by pulling people off WhatsApp. It needs to exist, be trustworthy and be ready on the day people look for another option. Signal and Wikipedia are judged the same way.
A network nobody controls alone
Underneath, Proseio uses Matrix, an open messaging protocol. No company and no government owns the network. The servers are in Brazil, run by Brazilian companies.
Who makes it
A small group of people connected to Envisioning, running their own infrastructure. The code goes public soon. The moderation rules come out at launch.
Who pays
Users, never. How Proseio is funded is still open. The options include fees paid by institutions on Pix charges and verification for businesses.
